We’ve been working hard for three generations to bring you the best Hereford Cattle, and now it can be delivered straight to your door. Located in Western Arkansas, James  Herefords is an approx 2000 acre ranch residing at the foothills of the Ozark Plateaus and scattered along several miles of the Arkansas River Valley in both Crawford and Franklin counties.

We began in 1955 when Jack James purchased his first Hereford cow. Along with raising cattle Jack also farmed row crop land; raising soybeans and at times other grains such as wheat and milo. From one cow in 1955, to being recognized as the largest registered Line 1 Hereford farm in the state in the mid 90's by the Arkansas Hereford Association. Jack and his wife,  Freda James, were living their life doing what they loved. 

With strict management and countless hours of hard work, Jack grew the cattle operation and was living out his dream as a cattle farmer. Alongside Jack was his son Kent James who was exceptional at keeping the farm running and operating efficiently and productively. Jack, having been an airplane mechanic in the service, passed down the knowledge and skills needed to build and repair anything that came his and Kent's way. Over the decades the farm has grown from just a few acres to the gorgeous ranch it is today.

Today, with many years of guidance and knowledge passed down, grandson Brandon James strives to continue the cattle operation. The herd has grown to over 300 momma cows (over 150 registered Herefords and over 150 commercial Herefords). While continuing to sell breeder bulls and replacement heifers, the ranch has expanded into farm to table beef production as well.

Having great genetics to produce top quality beef and knowing the difficulties that the general public encounters when trying to find healthy, family owned, American raised beef with no hormones or antibiotics; we felt inspired to offer just such products. James Herefords takes pride in knowing we can offer a product that is safe and healthy and will provide many opportunities for family and friends to gather around for great food and fellowship.
